3. Your organization works in the area of health, education and-or community development in a developing country.

4. The appropriate information and communication technology (ICT) training, support and maintenance is available locally to your organization so that GEM can be sure that the computers will be put to immediate and productive use. Please indicate the name of the technical contact below.

5. Your organization has available premises, electrical supply and adequate security to ensure the sustainable use of the equipment.

6. Your organization will provide an evaluation of the use of computers sourced through GEM by filling in our monitoring form, and returning it to us at our mailing address in the United States.

8. Whilst all computers are fully tested and working when they leave our workshop, GEM cannot be responsible for their condition upon arrival at the recipient organization.

9. GEM reserves the right to decide, upon its internal priorities, to decline to meet any individual organization request.

10. Be aware that all computers supplied by GEM are refurbished, used machines. We do not supply new machines. We ship IBM compatible computers. Presently, GEM's PCs possess 200 megahertz processors and above.

11. That at the time of launch in ICT labs, recipients will have their own knowledgeable PC individual (or PC specialist) to confirm that PCs work with GEM designees. In the event any computer system breaks down within six months of launch, a "Trouble Shooting Request Form" (to be provided) must be completed by the designated technical specialist, and GEM's technological partner, Island Technology Direct (ITD) is to be contacted at (268) 773 7097 or (268) 774 3414 for an assessment of the problem. A fee may be assessed by ITD for this consultation, depending on the nature of the problem.

12. Each machine comes with a color monitor, keyboard, mouse and cables. These machines are all capable of running Windows 95 and above. Copyright laws indicate that GEM is unable to supply computers with application software. In many cases, donated PCs are shipped with MS Windows operating systems per agreements between Microsoft Corporation and original owners. However, application software is the sole responsibility of the recipients.

The above Terms and Conditions represent the framework in which GEM donates educational resources to Recipient Organization, and said Recipient Organization accepts GEM's donation.
