This is not only true for the Caribbean, but for the rest of the developing world as well!
GEM firmly believe that a nation's greatest asset is the minds of its people.
In no other regions of the world is such a statement more applicable than island-states. Such territories tend to have little to no natural resources.
Accordingly, their survival as sovereign states with an effective role in the world's affairs in an increasingly technological world will rely heavily on their adoption of a knowledge-based society. Additionally, their ability to create a progressive socio-economical society and a stable political system is deeply correlated with the education of their inhabitants.
GEM assists in meeting this challenge by indirectly linking domestic companies and educational institutions to schools in these under-developed regions. The result: real computers, technological texts and expertise expeditiously and cost effectively placed in the classrooms where underprivileged students can learn the fundamentals that form the basis for a more meaningful existence in tomorrow's world.
